our Board of Directors Membership
The Mustard Seed is seeking to expand its Board of
Directors. Prior experience on a non-profit Board of
Directors, while certainly welcome, is not necessary.
The primary qualifications are:
• A desire to give back to the Central Florida community
and to help those less fortunate rebuild their lives.
• Enthusiasm and willingness to jump in and actively
participate in the governing board, as volunteers, event
organizers and in other capacities as needed.
Do you have a professional or personal connection to
a segment of the community that receives assistance from
the Mustard Seed?Our clients include senior
citizens, battered women, homeless families, migrant
workers, disaster victims and struggling families from
many cultural segments of the community. Your insight as
to how we can more effectively serve them would be
invaluable.
Fluency in a second language (especially Spanish,
since about a third of our clients are Hispanic) will
help us better interface with other organizations and
community leaders.
Do you have a special skill or business affiliation
that could be of benefit to our daily operations or help
keep our operating costs down?
Experience in running a general business or
fundraising are the most obvious, but other skills such
as contractors who can coordinate building projects and
ensure we properly maintain the warehouse, or those with
computer smarts to help with our office modernization,
are equally appreciated. If your talents are simply
organization, dedication and tenacity, we could still
use you on the Board!
