The beautiful building
which houses the Mustard Seed Furniture and Clothing Bank was
built entirely by the hearts, hands, and generosity of our
caring community partners. We can never thank them enough for
their gifts and support. |
|
This page contains a list of the businesses who contributed
skilled labor, professional expertise, materials, large grants
and property for this major construction project. Please
remember their names when looking for contractors for your
projects. |
- First and foremost, Charles and Malcom Clayton
of Clayton Properties in Winter Park donated two
acres of industrial warehouse zoned property. This
land gift is valued at $260,000.
- The Heart of Florida United Way, which funds a
portion of our operating budget each year, approved
a capital grant of $375,000, requiring the Mustard
Seed to raise the balance of the $1,200,000 project
ourselves.
- Dyer, Riddle, Mills & Precourt furnished the
boundary and topographic surveys of our new
property.
- Universal Engineering Sciences, Inc. provided a
geotechnical report for our building site and
prepared the Phase I environmental site assessment
report.
- Harling Locklin & Associates donated their
professional services for the site design, site plan
preparation and site permit preparation.
- Schenkel & Schultz, Inc. Architects prepared the
construction plans for our new building.

By July of 1999, they had built a beautiful 20,000 square
foot building with separate areas to house our Clothing and
Furniture Departments, four individual air conditioned rooms to
house our Food Bank, Toy Room, Linens Department and Housewares
Department, and the administrative offices.
In fall 2005, the Edyth Bush Foundation gifted the Mustard Seed
with a big dramatic sign for the warehouse to make it so much
easier to see from the main road. |

Under the constant leadership of Chuck and Carol, together
with engineer Bill Strange, the construction industry of Orange,
Seminole and Osceola Counties came together to complete our new
home. We salute them all, and have placed tributes to their
skill and generosity on the "Wall of Honor" in our lobby. |
