 We
provide our families with a minimal set of furniture that may
include a sofa, beds, a table, chairs, a dresser or shelves
depending on family size and what we have available. Much of our
furniture has been donated by redecorating hotels and is
serviceable even though not new. Lamps, bed linens and other
household goods such as dishes and flatware are also available.
Individual replacement items such as appliances, may be provided
for the elderly and those with special needs such as diabetics
and cancer patients.
In general however, a family can only receive furniture from the
Mustard Seed once in a lifetime unless they can prove acceptable
special circumstances such as an uninsured fire. We follow this
policy very strictly. The Mustard Seed is chartered to give
families in crisis a helping hand up, not a continuous handout. |
