Annual Letter
from Carol Kane: Founder of the Mustard Seed
To all of my Dear Friends and Supporters of The Mustard Seed.
This past year has been a year of many blessings. We have had
many people who have taken the time to come to The Mustard Seed
for tour and have realized the importance of our mission to
those who have lost everything do to a personal tragedy and
weather related storms and fire. To see the families and
individuals picking up their furniture and sometimes talking to
the families left our visitors with a great sense of how blessed
they were. As many stated how easy it could happen to them or
someone in their family.
I want to thank all the hotels for their donations of furniture
and beds. I also want to thank all the furniture stores, gift
stores and department stores for their donations of decorative
items and clothing .I also want to thank all who had fund
raising events for us and especially clear channel 104.1 who for
many years have helped to make my dreams come true.
Next year will be our tenth year in our new building and I want
to thank everyone who helped to build our building. It is and
will always be the most beautiful gift ever given to me.
For 2007 we were able to furnish and cloth 1,976 families which
equated to 5,000 individuals and 64% of those were children who
now do not have to be embarrassed to bring a friend home to play
and have nice clothes to wear to school.
Christmas was a great success as we gave out over 6,000 gifts to
families in need.
For 2008 and 2009 we hope to put a 10,000 sq foot addition to
our warehouse so when the disasters come we will I be ready and
have the extra space for all the donations that are sent to us.
I would like to thank all of our volunteers, staff and board
members for their outstanding commitment to the Mustard Seed.
THE ONE THING WE WOULD LIKE IS TO HAVE MORE CORPORATE AND
INDIVIDUAL DONORS TO HELP SUPPORT OUR MISSION FOR THE MUSTARD
SEED. FOR EVERY $485.00 YOU CAN FURNISH A HOME AND CLOTHING FOR
ONE FAMILY.
My best wishes and many blessings to all of you this year.
Carol Kane,
Founder/President
